Forget Me
Shouldn’t the night sky burn with light
a cosmos as infinite as ours, stars should engulf
every space
feeding on us reckless humans, so fragile yet
intolerant of our limits.
Incomprehensible space is not infinite, we
found, but rather skilled at presenting itself as
invincible
a trait that is present in some of us, what is a
façade if not adornation?
Do not expect to live naked in this world so
destructible, when death lurks in every corner
you ignore every afternoon.
Those plants scattered across fertile soil,
why does it wither to your touch?
Are your fingers dipped in poison, or is it your
will that wilts
the days have always evaded your intentions,
must we lose the night too?
in an infinity, we would have day, always
a dreary ghost of a person whose blood you
drew
hovering at your back, waiting for nothing
unlike yourself.
Would that be the familiar day, some wait for?
Or a darkness in the façade of light?
I do not have any answers.
Darkness.
What is it? Absence of light or an entity
unknown.
I should like to know its different forms
darkness,
its vices and beauty
maybe then I’ll know
who I am.
